Hi Folks,
I have acouple of questions.
I am running a 70 gal undercurrent system. I lost my last grow to root disease. What are you recommending to prevent root diseases.
I also just bought 5l of algen extract. I am reading that algen causes a thick build up in hydro systems.
Is this true?
Can I use canadian xpress root gen and wilt guard with your nutes.
Gene
You need to make sure that your water temperature is between 62-68F. You will get root rot if you go higher then that. Those systems use a water chiller. I have gotten mixed feedback on the Algen Extract with those systems. Some people have stopped using it all together with those systems and some really like it in small doses. For your root maintenance, I would recommend Roots Excelurator, but your stuff should be ok. Peace!
Hi Folks,
I purchased your line according to your nute calculator.
There is mistakes all over this calculator. Just check Multi-zen for one.
As I check on the net this is a known issue. So it looks like I have to purchase alot more nutes than your calculator is telling me or I am going to kill alot of plants.
Perhaps I am missing something here. Please let me know asap as I want to return these nutes “if I can” if there is this big of a problem. I jus lost a crop due to a manufactures mis information and I’m not going to loose another.
Agan please respond to this asap I do not want to get stuck with nuts I cannot count on the feeding schedule.
Also do you not provide ec levels?
The only thing that is absolutely necessary on the calculator is the base nutrients. Every other additive is optional. The calculator has been going through growing pains lately, so we’re sorry for any inconvenience. We also provide feed charts to follow so you can make your own very easy calculations. You know, it’s very hard to know how much nutrients you will need for an entire run before you even start. H&G is a very user friendly nutrient line, so I hope you stick with it. Peace!
I currently use Roots Excellerator in my indoor garden and the results are excellent, I am curious if I can use this product on some fruit trees i bought at the nursery and just transplanted in front yard, thanks for your input
Nutrient mixing procedure? I was told to put all additives in first mix my nutes in a gal separately then before adding to the feed mix, then ph it an after that add my roots excell an hygrozyme, an I always aerate the water while mixing an storing the mix for a max of 24 hr, I’m working with r.o water starting point of ph 6 an ppm 20 this is the r.o water starting point thanx for any help. In 50 percent coco / perlite an what’s the best base for coco
The Proper nutrient mixing procedure is to first add part A, give it a good stir and wait 15 minutes. Then add part B, give it a good stir and wait a few minutes. At this point you want to adjust your PH, then add your additives. I don’t recommend using Hygrozyme with House and Garden because it causes major PH fluctuations. For a coco medium, you want to use Cocos A/B in a drain to waste system. Peace!
Hi. I’m using H&G Cocos A/B in coir, 3 gallon smart pots. I’m wondering
1. When (if?) to flush? I’m at Wk 7 in flower.)
2. What beneficials do you recommend for roots/rhizo? I’ve heard Mycogrow soluble was good.
3. Do you really recommend using Roots Exel. so far into flower?
4. Do you recommend cutting down on Pt. A in flower to reduce the nitrogen?
Thanks so much- really want to make H&G work for me.
Karen
1. You’ll want to flush for 3 days with PH proper water at the end of the flowering cycle.
2. I recommend Great White at the recommended dose and only 4 weeks into flowering.
3. You can use Roots Excelurator all the way through if you want, but the chart says to stop after week 4 of flower.
4. You can reduce the amount of Part A to reduce stretching when you first flip your lights, other then that, no don’t reduce it.
Peace!
I would like to know if I have to change 25 gallons of water with nuts every week or biweekly in a EBB and Grow -12 system hydro?! I will start using FLakes AB and all the adds (I got them already)in your calculator!!
You don’t have to completely change the water every week in your reservoir. You can top off and add fresh nutrients according to how much fresh water you add. You can easily go for 2 or 3 weeks in between water changes. Peace!
I am moving from canna to H&G, because I mostly like the H&G line more than canna’s BUT I do want to continue running canna’s boost in conjuction with H&G. I am running aqua flakes in a gro-n-flo 55 gal. do you have any good recomendations on feeding schedule? any ideas are appriciated.
peace
You’ll be fine using Canna Boost with Aqua Flakes. Follow the feed chart, it’s your friend. I recommend feeding four times in 24 hours, evenly spaced intervals. Peace!
Hello; I have been using your product line for about four years.I have always been very satisfied with my results. However this last price increase has made me start looking around for an alternative. Prices on every thing have gotten so high. I grow in cocoa and with your line I cant reuse it.Don’t price your self right out of the market. With some of the other top line nuts, you can at least reuse the cocoa. I know that may seem insignificant, but it’s gotten that tight.
The latest price increase was 7% to the MSRP. If you are experiencing larger increases, please let us know because we monitor that with our retail lacations. We have done price comparisons against Advanced and Canna, and House and Garden is still lower then both of them. Peace!
I don’t know exactly what the shelf life of the H&G Coco Coir is, but there isn’t anything alive in there, so I would think that it would be pretty long as long as it doesnt get moldy or anything. Peace!
Two questions.
First, I thought I was taught to not use magic green in bloom. The caculator shows using it till the end. Is that correct? Is it OK to use Magic Green right up until harvest?
Second, My old H&G Cocos chart said to use 13 grams of Shooting Powder for every 5 gallons of water. I see on the calculator it says 5 grams for every 5 Gallons. Which is correct? If I have been using 13 grams instead of 5, am I hurting anything?
I know the charts and calculator say to use Magic Green until the end, however, I don’t spray anything on my plants after the 4th week of flower. The nutrient calculator is being repaired, go with your old chart. Your dose of 13 grams for 5 gallons is correct. Peace!
Does your coco line require Cal/Mag supplementation, if so which one would you recommend.
Just mixed Amino Boost for the first time. Your feed chart calls for 3.8 ml per gallon, 50 gallon res comes out to 190 ml per feeding. At $ 72 per 250 ml bottle that equals to $54 per watering in a drain to waste coco set up. Am I confused or just paid to much for my Amino Boost. What is the suggested retail price?
Thanks in advance for any info, hope your line lives up to its name and price.
The organic silica in the Amino Treatment is rare and contributes to the higher price. The price you payed is correct. The one liter bottle goes for around $180, so you’ll be able to save some money buying the larger bottle. The Cocos A/B doesn’t require a cal/mag additive, but sometimes it’s needed. I wouldn’t add any unless treating a deficiency. Depending on what kind of coco you use, you might need to add calcium to balance out the PH. Peace!
Hi there. I’m using your line of nutrients along with Dutch Master Gold Range Zone to keep my system sterile (aside from the plants). I’m in mid-flower and experiencing some wild positive pH drift. My water’s standing EC is about 4, around 8.5pH. I’m having a very hard time keeping it at 5.8!
I’ve seen that you’re selling pH fixing products overseas for this exact problem. Could you PLEASE start selling them in the United States?! You brought the Amino Treatment and the Nitrogen Boost here, but you have three more to go. Come on.
It is not recommended to use Zone with House and Garden. I actually don’t really recommend to use Dutch Master at all with House and Garden because they run a sterile system and House and Garden does not. Your PH drift is probably due to the conflict that is going on within the two differebt nutrient lines. You will generally have more then normal PH drift when you mix nutrient lines, but the difference between H&G and Dutchmaster is huge, so the drift is going to be bigger then that. Take the Zone out and your PH should stabilize. Peace!

What is the Shelf life of the Mulit-Zen and Bud XL? What is the shelf life of all your products?
When will the new products be ready for purchase in the US?
Hi Jeremy,
The shelf life of all the House and Garden products is 3 years unopened, and 1 year opened, if stored properly in a cool dark place. Peace!
