is it safe to sprAY MAGIC GREEN SO LATE IN FLOWERING
Hey James,
Magic Green is a completely organic mild nutrient that not only protects the plant, but can also enhance sweeter fruits and flowers. Spray in dark at 5-10ml per gal. up untill the last 2 weeks of flowering.
Happy Growing! Rob
HELLO, I have the magic green and was wondering if it can used for seedlings 3-4 weeks old. Also, can this be used alone with the seedlings (sprayed) and can I mix this along with my base nutrient, i hear to use about half strength of both nutrients at this stage? Any help would be great. As of now the seedlings have just been given treated H20. THANKS AGAIN!!
Hey Al,
MAGIC GREEN is a leading plant ‘booster’ for parent plants, rooted and unrooted cuttings and growing plants. The mild, fully organic plant booster is absorbed directly by the leaves and restores the plant’s deep green colour and vitality and provides it with food. Every application of Magic Green provides the leaf with a thin wax layer, which will work to protect against insects and fungi. Magic Green offers a provisional solution when the growth medium disturbed and the plant is unable to obtain the necessary nutrients through its root system. It is an excellent solution to bridge a difficult period and to restore the natural balance.
Advice- Do not use Magic Green more than once or twice a week. This is to prevent the development of the roots from slowing down, because it is too easy for them to absorb the nutrients though the leaves. use Magic Green only as a ‘booster’. .
Application- If the plant leaves are discoloured (veins are too green or too pale). If the nutrients absorption of the roots is disturbed. As a protection against damage by fungi and insects. To give the plant growth an extra ‘booster’.
Method- Magic Green is applied by spraying with a plant sprayer. Fill the sprayer with water and add the prescribed amount of Magic Green. Magic Green works within two days.
WARNING: Spray Magic Green when there is NO direct light to avoid burning. Always clean out unused Magic Green from container after applying to plants. NEVER STORE MIXED MAGIC GREEN!!!!!

Can I use magic green with LED lights on ???
Hey John,
It depends on how intense the lights are! I have been able to use magic green in lower levels of light without burning but House and Garden DOES NOT suggest spraying Magic Green while lights are on.

I’ve used MG for a couple of years now and have always been super stoked with it! One of my favorite methods is to mix 8-10ml of it in with about 26oz. purified water/6 oz. compost/worm tea (just make sure the tea has no, or very very little NPK value).
As far as lights on or off, I usually come into the grow room about 30 mins prior to the big lights coming on and turn on an incandessant light or two. This will start to open up the stomata for better uptake, but wont heat up the leaves and burn. Spray the girls completely, go heaviest on the undersides, and very lightly shake off the excess. Turn off the incandessants and resume normal photo period. I’ve gone with this all the way up to early week 3 of flowering. My Plants love it. Bugs and mold hate it.
Thanks Chris,
Love the feedback! This will be a great post for other users.

Are you supposed to PH the magic green? after i mix it the PH is reading 4.9…
Hey Tyson,
I always felt it a good idea to ph folier spray but it is not always necessery. Many people spray on ph levels way out of normal range to kill off powdery molds. So the answer is NO, you should not have to ph balance Magic Green unless you feel its helping your plants.

With the waxy layer on the leaves, is the new spray with each feeding able to penetrate thru that waxy layer and still be absorbed?
Jay
Hey Jay,
We do suggest you foiler spray with Magic Green every 2 weeks. This is so the waxy layer can break down and be asorbed by the plants along with the nutrients. The waxy layer also gives the live bacterias something to digest for food until they die off.
Happy Growing! Rob
The bottle says 5-10 ml per Liter, but one of Rob’s post , October 26, says 5-10 ml per gallon. Someone help me out here please. Appreciate the site.
Hey Mike,
Rob here again! I promise you the chart is right and not the bottle. That is a old measurement from Europe that is being pulled from the labels. Following the label is an extremely aggressive dosage and can easily burn your plants.
Peace Out! Rob
Feed Chart I have says to use Magic Green every other week. This site says 1-2 times per week.
Which is correct?
Hey John,
The Chart is correct! Use Magic Green every other week at 5-10 per gallon after lights go off. Some people use Magic Green weekly at lower doses.
Peace Out! Rob
Should I add a wetting agent? Which one do you recommend?
Hi Dave,
Souds like you’re asking about Magic Green. There’s no wetting agent needed when spraying with Magic Green, just dilute with water and you’re ready to go. Peace!
Alan
I have a cat that love to munch on my leaves against my will…will the leaves be safe for consumption if magic green has been used in the past few days?
Hi Bill,
I think the cat will be fine, and by that I mean feeling fine. Peace!
Alan
Hi, I have used MG for several years now and I love its quick action. Could you tell me if their are beneficial bacterias in it? Also, are there any synthetic growth hormones? It just works so dang well!
Hi John,
There are beneficials in Magic Green and no there aren’t any growth hormones in it. That’s why we call it Magic. Peace!
Alan
I think every grower should have this product,Ive used it for 2+ years now, always good to have when ( like now) I have to flush my medium due to some critters.( root aphids) Magic Green gives my plants the food they need while not being able to upload from the roots, simply love this stuff, and in regards to an earlier question I ALWAYS ph after mixing hitting my target ph of between 6.1 and 6.5 ,noticed it helps to have the water at around 75degrees,and always at lights out
why should you never store mixed magic green?? it doesnt say this on the label, today i used mixed stuff from last week it smelled disgusting what will happen to the plants??
Hi Megan,
You must use Magic Green within 6 hours of mixing beacuse the environment becomes anarobic. Just spray you plant with proper PH water and you should be fine. Peace!
Alan
I’ve been using house and garden for about 5 years now and have quit using the magic green foliar spray. every time i use it i burn my plants. i noticed that you changed the ml/gal. So i thought that i would try again. I applied 7ml/gal and still ended up with a burn. it was more severe on some strains than others, but was noticed on all. Any thoughts??
thnx robert
Hi Robert,
We did fix the label to read 5-10ml/gallon. Did you spray with the lights on? All spraying should be done with the lights off to avoid burning. Are you adjusting your PH low before you add Magic Green to it? I don’t know if these questions apply to you, I’m just trying to figure out why your plants would burn like that. I’ve never encountered this problem before. Did you use Magic Green after it had been mixed for more then 6 hours? You’re supposed to use Magic Green within 6 hours of mixing with water because the environment becomes anarobic and can burn your plants. I hope some of this has helped you. Peace!
Alan
Thanx for the quick response. i did not adjust the Ph, but everything else was on point. I’ll try adjust the Ph and run a trial on a few plants and see how the respond. What Ph do you suggest and what ml/gal would you suggest for a trial run?
Hi Robert,
I wasn’t saying to adjust the PH low, I was just trying to figure out why you would have burning. We recommend not to adjust the PH of the water before adding Magic Green. I use 5ml/gal when I spray and the plants are healthy, but maybe try 2ml/gallon. How long have you had the Magic Green bottle? Maybe it went bad. Peace!
Alan
What’s up guys? Just wondering how long a bottle of Magic Green is good for after you crack the seal?
Hi Juan,
Shelf life of all H&G products after opening is 1 year if stored properly. Peace!
Alan
